About LEGMATE Stern Drive Installation Tool

The Legmate Stern Drive hydraulic lift installation tool has been designed and developed by IDM Engineering for the marine industry, making the removal and installation of stern drive units both safe and efficient.

Legmate is constructed in the UK from top quality steel, finished in yellow powder coating and fitted with heavy duty wheels with rubber tyres for use in boat yards with uneven ground and comes complete with a hydraulic lifting jack, removable alluminium oil drip service tray and strong safety strap. Although the tool has been certified to cope with a 250kg safe working load during testing it functioned at 630kg and didn’t fail until subjected to 2500kg.

It will work with most makes and models of stern drive including Volvo, OMC, Mercury Alpha and Bravo.

It is not only a hydraulic lifting device with 250kg Safe Working Load, it is a transport trolley and a work station for holding the drive unit whilst servicing and anti-fouling. The Legmate turns the awkward task of removing a stern drive unit into a one man job saving on labour costs at the same time making it safer by not having to lift the stern drive unit manually.
